Amazon Takes Its Cloud Computing Platform To Space

Amazon is not content with using its corporate publishing solutions available on earth, it now wants to spread its wings in space as well.

This Just In revealed Amazon Web Services (AWS) intends on expanding its services by looking at satellite systems in outer space.

The report was published after two job adverts were released for AWS searching for experts in the field.

A job for a Space and Satellite System Software Development Engineer was posted to provide AWS with someone who can build and maintain real-time satellite data processing systems as the company builds upon its space processing services.

It stated: “AWS, the world leader in providing a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world, needs software development experts who want to be part of a big, audacious space project.”

According to Amazon, these projects will have a huge impact on their customers, particularly those in commercial enterprises and the government.

Its second job listing was for a Space and Satellite Product Manager – Technical, so they can integrate space systems with its data centre networks.

This will help Amazon aggregate satellite systems, create inter-connecting space systems, and manage satellite control network devices.

Using the cloud is essential for businesses these days, and Google is another corporation that wants to stay ahead of the game when it comes to storage solutions.

That is why it is replacing Google Drive with Google One for paid-for customers, enabling them to receive larger amounts of free space for their photos and videos.
